BULLDOGS, DESPITE ANOTHER WIN, DROP AGAIN IN AFCA II POLL, NOW AT NO. 9

Monday, October 29, 2012

For the second week in a row, the University of Minnesota Duluth has been "rewarded" for a dominating victory with a one spot demotion in the American Football Coaches Association Division II poll. The Bulldogs, who two weeks ago owned a share of seventh place in those rankings, checked in at No. 9 this week.

UMD (8-1 overall and riding a four-game winning streak) is one of three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference clubs to make this week's Top 25 list, joining Minnesota State University-Mankato (No. 6) and the University of Sioux Falls (No. 27). The Bulldogs have cracked the Top 10 in every AFCA II weekly poll since Sept. 29, 2008 -- except for two weeks (both coming last fall)  -- and held down the top slot from Nov. 2, 2010 to Sept. 19, 2011.

The four-time defending NSIC champion Bulldogs will close out the 2012 regular season with two straight home engagements, the first taking place this Saturday (Nov. 3) against the University of Mary.
