FORMER BULLDOG HOOPSTER MICHEAU SUCCUMBS TO LUNG CANCER AT AGE 51

Randy Micheau, who was a two-year starting center at the University of Minnesota Duluth during the early 1980s, died this past Sunday (Oct. 28) after battling lung cancer.


A native of Duluth and 1979 Duluth Central High School graduate, Micheau transferred to UMD in 1982-83 after spending two years at Macalester College. He started and played in all 59 games over the next two seasons, averaging 7.1 points per game and 5.7 rebounds for Bulldog clubs which rolled up a 49-10 record and captured a pair of Northern Intercollegiate Conference championships.


Memorial services for Micheau are scheduled for 4 p.m. on Nov. 1 with visitation beginning one hour earlier at Interclachen Country Club in Edina, Minn.
