Dr. Susan (Suz) Britton Hoppe, EdD, ATC

The 2012-2013 school year will mark Suz Britton Hoppe's 10th year at UMD as an athletic trainer.  Her first year she worked with soccer, softball and women's basketball.  For the past 9 years, she has worked with the Men's Hockey team, the Men's and Women's Cross Country teams, as well as Spring Football.  Suz also teaches classes within the UMD Athletic Training Education Program.

 

Prior to arriving at UMD, she served a two-year stint as the baseball athletic trainer at Gardner-Webb University, an NCAA Division I institution in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.

 

Hoppe, graduated with her undergraduate degree in kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1999.  Immediately following that she earned her Masters of Education degree from the Division II Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA.  She has completed her final year in the Doctor of Education program at the University of Minnesota Duluth.  Her research interests include Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers and clinical competence.

 

Suz is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and serves as a preceptor for the UMD Athletic Training Education Program and the Entry-level masters program in Athletic Training at the College of St. Scholastica.

 

She currently resides in Duluth with her husband James and daughter Addison.
