Was a three-year starter in volleyball and the ace of the UMD softball pitching staff for four seasons while also lettering once in basketball ... Landed All-Northern Sun Conference acclaim in 1983 after leading that circuit in attack percentage and serve reception efficiency (for the second consecutive year) ... Amassed a 9-1 mark and a school-record 0.10 earned run average as a senior ... Helped lead UMD to its first-ever NSC title that year en route to being named to the All-NSC team and UMD's Most Valuable Player ... Made 50 career mound appearances and went 33-14 with a 1.04 ERA ... Was an All-MIAW softball honoree in both 1982 and 1983 ... Claimed UMD’s Outstanding Senior Female Athlete Award for 1983-84 ... Stayed on as a student assistant coach with the 1984 Bulldog volleyball team ... Has served with the United States Navy since 1986, receiving the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer in May 2005 ... Also continued her successful volleyball playing career after graduating from UMD in 1985 (B.A.S. degree in physical education) ... Has taken part in a number of national and international tournaments, such as the first World Military Games in Rome, Italy in 1985, as a member of the All-Armed Forces Women's Volleyball Team.
