Presided over the UMD men’s tennis program for 23 seasons ... directed the Bulldogs to 19 NSIC championships, two conference runner-up finishes and a 364-99 overall record for a .786 winning percentage – the best mark of any coach in UMD athletic history ... reeled off 87 straight NSIC wins -- a run which began in 1981 -- before retiring from coaching at the conclusion of the 1998 season ... his Bulldogs earned four trips to the NAIA National Tournament (1986, 1987, 1990 and 1991) and two to the NCAA II regionals (1988 and 1991) ...was selected the NSIC Coach of the Year on 19 occasions ... became UMD’s first full-time athletic trainer in 1970 and held that position for 29 years ... was also employed as an assistant professor in UMD's Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation during that same period ... is a native of Los Altos, Calif.
