Was a three-year varsity letterman with the UMD ski team ... skied for the United States at both the 1960 and 1964 Winter Olympic Games and at the 1958, 1962 and 1966 World Championships ... captured first place at the U.S. National Class A Ski Jumping Championships on three different occasions (1963, 1966 and 1967) ... spent 11 seasons (1958-67) competing with the U.S. Ski Jumping Team ... was inducted into the U.S. Skiing Hall of Fame in 1983 and is a charter member of the Head of the Lakes Skiing Hall of Fame (1991) ... graduated from UMD in 1963 with a B.A. degree in business.
