(1982-87)
Deftly patrolled the blue line on UMD's first two NCAA Final Four entries and its first two Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular season and playoff championship clubs (1983-84 and 1984-85) ... Capped off his five-year playing career (he was injured four games into his freshman season and was subsequently granted an extra year of eligibility) in 1986-87 with an All-WCHA first team citation while serving as the Bulldogs' team captain ... Skated for Team USA at both the 1988 and 1992 Olympic Games (he was an assistant team captain in 1992) and at three International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships (1986, 1990 and 1991) ... Played for one year (1987-88) with the National Hockey League’s Winnipeg Jets and also spent four professional hockey seasons in Moncton (American Hockey League), Kansas City (AHL) and Skelleftea (Sweden) ... Was voted to the 21-player All-DECC Team in 2010 by his fellow alumni ... Is a native of Rochester, Minn. ... Recieved a B.A. degree in physical education (with a concentration in corporate fitness) from UMD in 1987 ... Works as a regional manager of USA Hockey's American Development Model ... Has been an assistant coach with the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team the past two years and will handle that role again in 2013-14.
