Counts herself as one of most decorated women in UMD athletics history ... Was twice selected the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year (2002 and 2004) -- a Bulldog first -- and attained NCAA II All-American status on two occasions, finishing sixth in the 2005 indoor 400-meter hurdles and eighth  in the 2004 outdoor 800-meter run ... Captured seven NSIC indoor and outdoor titles and set the conference's outdoor 400-meter hurdle record in 2004 (1:01.35), a mark that stood for eight years ... Was a 24-time All-NSIC/North Central Conference honoree ... Left UMD owning four individual indoor and outdoor records and another two relay standards ... Was named the NCAA Division II Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the NCAA II Conference Commissioners Association in 2004-05 as well as the NCAA Woman of the Year for Minnesota ... Received UMD's Top Female Scholar-Athlete Award for 2003-04, the 2005 NCC Stan Marshall Award (given to one male and one female senior student-athlete who distinguish themselves through academic performance, athletic ability and community activities) and the inaugural UMD Shjon Podein Community Service Award in the 2002-03 (presented to a UMD student-athlete who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the field of play and has made noteworthy humanitarian contributions to the Duluth and UMD communities) ... Continues to run competitively and among her highlights was placing 25th among all women at the 2013 USA Track and Field (USATF) Marathon Championships ... Earned a B.A.S. degree in psychology and a B.A. degree in women's studies from UMD in 2004 and a Master's degree in social work two years later ... Is  a St. Paul native.
