Rolled up an overall individual wrestling record of 103-18-1 (for an .848 winning percentage) during his four storied years with the Bulldogs ... attained All-American honors in 1982 after placing second at 118 pounds at the NCAA Division II Championships ... captained the Bulldogs to their first-ever Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference title as a senior .. was selected the NSIC's Outstanding Wrestler that year as well ... remains the only Bulldog to compete in an NCAA Division I National event -- accomplished that feat at the 1982 Championships in Ames, IA ... finished that season as the 13th-ranked 118-pounder in all of college wrestling ... owned the school single-season record for winning percentage (.917 on a 33-3-0 individual mark in 1980-81) for 14 years ... was selected Minnesota-Duluth's Outstanding Senior Athlete for 1981-82 ... went on to win a pair of U.S. Air Force individual championships (1986 and 1987) and the 1987 U.S. Armed Forces title ... graduated from Minnesota-Duluth in a 1983 with a B.A.S. degree in industrial technology.
