Was a three-time golf All-American (NAIA in 1980 and NCAA Division II second team in 1980 and 1981) at UMD ... secured All-Northern Intercollegiate Conference status three successive seasons (1978-80) ... took home medalist honors at the NIC Golf Championship and the 1980 NAIA District 13 Tournament ... captained the 1980-81 Bulldogs to their highest finish ever in a NCAA national golf event (fifth place) while winding up ninth among individuals at that tournament in Hartford, CT ... won a total of 12 individual titles as a collegian ... lettered three years with the baseball Bulldogs and finished first on the club in earned run average (2.16) as a freshman in 1979 ... graduated from UMD in 1981 with a degree in Business Administration ... spent thee years as a touring golf professional before regaining his amateur status in 1986 ... has participated in five U.S. Amateur Golf Championships (1979,1989, 1990, 1991 and 1993) ... is regarded as one of the top golfers to ever come out of Northern Minnesota ... Duluth Central High School alumnus.
