Holds the distinction of being UMD’s first NCAA II All-American in cross country, earning that status with a 21st-place finish at the 1986 nationals ... reigned as the Northern Sun Conference's individual cross country champion in 1986 -- the first Bulldog women to ever do so -- while corralling her third All-NSC honor in three years ... captained the cross country Bulldogs as a junior and was a two-time track team captain (1987 and 1988) ... landed UMD's Most Valuable Cross Country Award in 1985 and 1986 ... turned in an All-American performance (fourth place) in the 1,500-meter run at the 1987 NCAA II indoor nationals ... attained All-NSC outdoor and indoor track recognition on two occasions ... held both the outdoor and indoor 1,500- and 800-meter school records at the conclusion of her collegiate career ... was chosen UMD's Top Female Scholar Athlete for 1986-87 ... graduated in 1988 from UMD summa cum laude with a B.A. degree in chemistry before going on to attend medical school ... is a native of Buffalo, Minn.
