Football Defensive Back/Punter (1971-74)

Became UMD's first Associated Press Little All-American in 1974 ... recipient of both the 1974-75 UMD Outstanding Senior Athlete Award and Top Scholar Athlete Award ... was a four-year started at safety for the Bulldogs and also started at split end during his final two collegiate seasons ... handled UMD's punting responsibilities for three years ... earned All-MIAC first team honors in 1973 and 1974 ... captained the Bulldogs as a senior and was named the team's Most Valuable Player ... helped lead UMD to a share of the 1973 MIAC crown ... served as the head football coach at Cold Spring-Rocori High School from 1989-2000 and directed the Spartans to a Minnesota State Class A second place finish in 1991 and a pair of Central Lakes Conference championships (1991-92) ... coached a number of other sports at Cold Spring-Rocori High School, including girl's track, baseball, golf and swimming ... graduated from UMD in 1975 with a B.S. degree in education ... is a St. Paul, Minn., native.
