Head Men's Basketball Coach
(1954-69)

Presided over the UMD men's basketball program for 16 storied seasons ... compiled a 229-136 overall record for a .627 winning percentage ... those 229 wins were, at the time, the most ever recorded by a Bulldog basketball head coach ... guided UMD to four Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles (1957, 1958, 1961 and 1962) and five runner-up finishes ... coached the Bulldogs' first two entries in both the NAIA National Tournament (1958 and 1959) and the NCAA Regionals (1957 and 1965) ... his Bulldogs copped back-to-back NAIA District 13 championships in 1958 and 1959 ... also served as a part-time UMD assistant football coach from 1958-1968 ... was the head boy's basketball coach at Sierra Vista High School (CA) for 10 seasons (1971-1981) ... took four of his prep teams to the CIF Championships.
