Was a four-year standout in both golf and hockey at UMD ... Joined teammate (and fellow UMD Athletic Hall of Famer) Tom Maas as the Bulldogs' first golf All-Americans after placing fourth individually at the 1962 NAIA Championships. ... Captained UMD to a third-place team finish at that national event ... Played a significant role in the Bulldogs' conquest of four straight Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference golf titles ... Appeared in 73 career games, collecting 39 goals and 31 assists and left the UMD hockey program as its fourth all-time leading scorer ... Served as an alternate team captain his final year with the hockey Bulldogs and wound up missing half of the season with a separated shoulder. ...
