Left the Bulldog football program in 1976 having rushed for more yards (2,957) than any other player in team history ... paced the NCAA Division II ranks in both rushing and scoring as a senior en route to attaining Kodak (Associated Press) Little All-American and All-Northern Intercollegiate Conference recognition ... broke a number of UMD records in farewell campaign including rushing yards in a single season (1,482) and a single game (235 vs. Southwest State), touchdowns in a single season (22) and in a single game (six vs. SSU -- also an NIC standard) and points in a single season (144) and a single game (36 vs. SSU) ... credited with running for 100 or more yards on a school-record 14 occasions during his Bulldog tenure ... was named UMD's Outstanding Senior Athlete ... was a second round pick (51st selection overall) of the Oakland Raiders in the 1977 National Football League Draft ... subsequently played with the Kansas City Chiefs (1977-81) and the Buffalo Bills (1982) ... led all NFL rushers in average yards per carry (6.0 in 1978) ... concluded both the 1978 and 1979 seasons as the Chiefs' leader in rushing ... paced that club in pass receptions as well in 1979 ... set the Kansas City franchise record for longest run from scrimmage (an NFL-high 84-yard jaunt in 1979) ... is a Duluth Central High School alumnus.
