Started for four seasons in both football and baseball ... was a Kodak (Associated Press) Little All-American and the Minnesota Intercollegiate Conference's Most Valuable Football Player in 1975 ... named to the All-MIAC teams as a sophomore, junior, and senior ... led the NCAA Division II ranks in punt returns in 1975 with a school-record 27.7 yard per return mark ... finished collegiate football career as Minnesota-Duluth's all-time leader in pass receptions (111), points (266) and punt returns (11.3 yards) ... was a two-time All-MIAC outfielder (1974 and 1976) and the recipient of the Bulldog's Most Valuable Player Award in baseball an unprecedented three straight seasons (1974-76) ... chosen Minnesota-Duluth's Outstanding Senior Male Athlete and its Top Scholar-Athlete in 1975-76 ... picked by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round (180th selection overall) of the 1976 National Football League draft ... served as the head football coach at Proctor High School (his prep alma mater) from 1978-80 ... deceased ... Proctor High School football field is named in his honor.
