Was a four-year starter – and standout – in both baseball and football ... Became UMD’s first baseball All-American as a junior in 2003 (American Baseball Coaches Association Division II first team outfielder) and was also chosen the ABCA's NCAA II Central Region Player of the Year and the NSIC Player of the Year that spring ...Remains UMD’s all-time batting leader, with a .411 lifetime average, and ranks second in team history with five shutouts ...Held 10 program pass receiving and scoring records when he hung up his collegiate football cleats in 2003... Caught more lifetime passes (189), for more yards (3,685) and more touchdowns (38) than anyone to ever wear a UMD uniform ... Was the first Bulldog to eclipse the 1,000-yard plateau for pass receptions, doing so as both junior and senior ... Received the NSIC’s Glen Galligan Award for academic and athletic achievement in 2003 – the only Bulldog to date to be so honored ... Collared All-NSIC football status on three occasions ... Was a D2Football.com All-Midwest Region first team pick and a Harlon Hill Award Top 24 finalist in 2003 ...Helped UMD secure its first NCAA II Tournament berths in both football (2002) and baseball (2003) ... Was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 50th round of the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft -- just days after earning a professional tryout with the National Football League's Dallas Cowboys ... Graduated from UMD in 2004 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (finance) and received a Professional Police Officer Education (PPOE) certificate from Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College four years later ... Is a native of Cloquet, Minn.
