Was a two-time All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference offensive and defensive tackle (1966 and 1967) ... received Minnesota-Duluth's Outstanding Lineman Award in 1967 and was an NAIA All-American honorable mention pick that same year ... also lettered one year with the Bulldog basketball team (1963-64) ... named Minnesota-Duluth's Outstanding Senior Athlete for 1967-68 ... owns the distinction of being the first Bulldog athlete in any sport to be drafted by a professional team -- was the 12th round pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1968 National Football League draft ... played four seasons at offensive tackle in St. Louis (1968-71) before concluding his NFL career with a one-year stint with the New York Jets (1973) ... earned a B.S. degree in physical education from Minnesota-Duluth.
