The University of Minnesota Duluth indoor track and field teams wrapped up their weekend in dominant fashion Saturday at UW Superior's Twin Ports Open.
The Bulldog women clinched several top spots on the day, starting with fifth year Madeline Verkerke claiming the Mile in a time of 5:07.17, and sophomore Rachel Ulrich taking the 1k race in a time of 3:04.82.
Sophomore Sierra Ingle ran herself to a first place finish in the women's 600m in a time of 1:46.13, and senior teammate Rebekah Muhlenkamp followed to claim second in a time of 1:47.10.
Freshman Sevanna Burke crossed the line in a time of 29.90 in the 200m hurdle race, also earning a first place finish. Fifth year Megan Gilles was the runner-up in the open 200m race in a time of 26.73.
Junior Erin Steinman swept the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.33m and freshmen teammate Allysah Larson took second with a 10.60m jump.
Over in the ring junior Svea Smestad took second in the weight throw with a personal best toss of 14.00m. In the pit, sophomore Lillian Wanzek claimed second in the long jump with a mark of 5.09m.
The men also saw success on both the track and field, with junior Brock Unger taking the men's 60m race in a time of 7.01, and sophomore Brady Johnson running to a first place finish in a time of 23.00 in the men's 200m.
Junior Jaden Johnson claimed his second win of the weekend in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.98m, and sophomore Nathan Amundson took second in the 600m, crossing the line in a time of 1:25.56.
