The University of Minnesota Duluth women's basketball team has been seeded at No. 8 in the Central Region and will face conference rival Minnesota State University Mankato, in the NCAA Tournament first round.
The Bulldogs earned their way into the tournament after holding a No. 7 ranking in the final week of the NCAA Central Regional rankings. They completed the season with a 20-8 overall record, earning the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division title. This entry marks the program's 16th tournament appearance and sixth under head coach
Mandy Pearson.
UMD faces NSIC foe Minnesota State University Mankato, which owns a 29-2 overall record with a NSIC South Division title.
The first round is set for this Friday, March 13th, in Mankato, Minn., at 5:00 p.m.
