Ten University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs captured individual titles at Saturday's Lake Superior Challenge in Duluth, including sophomore
Jason Lilja, who was a double winner.
Lilja placed first in both the long jump (22'-03.50") and high jump (a NCAA II provisional qualifying mark of 6'-08.00") at the Burns Wellness Center on the College of St. Scholastica campus. Other Bulldog titlist included junior
Gage Sachs in the 3,000-meter run (9:10.86), freshman
Nathan Comer in the 600-meter run (1:25.74), junior
James Ryan in the 60-meter hurdles (8.66), junior
Mark Emlaw in the 60-meter dash (7.22), freshman
Darrick Jackson in the 800-meter run (2:03.89), freshman
Austin Carlson in the 400-meter dash (53.05), junior
Drew Johnson in the mile one (4:27.42), junior
Mitch Fisher in the 5,000-meter run (15:43.74) and senior
Phil d'Entremont in the 500-meter dash (a school- and Burns Wellness Center-record 1:05.54). The Bulldogs also took top honors in three relay events -- 4 x 400 (Comer, Jackson, d'Entremont and freshman
Connor Behm), 4 x 200 (Carlson, senior
Jacob Nelson,and freshmen
Nick Beattie and freshman
Joey Kolpin) and distance medley (freshmen

Alex Naughton)
The Bulldogs will remain in compete in the University of St. Thomas Showcase next Friday (Feb. 13) before returning to the Twin Ports the following day for the University of Wisconsin-Superior's Yellowjacket Open.
