The University of Minnesota Duluth Department of Intercollegiate Athletics was once again rewarded for its innovative marketing efforts earlier this week when it received three "Best of" Awards from the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) at the organization's annual convention in Orlando, Fla.
UMD was bestowed with a pair of Gold citations and one Bronze honor for its exemplary marketing and fan-experience work during the 2014-15 sports season. Awards were voted on by marketing and administrative professionals in all divisions across the NCAA.
"We are honored to receive multiple awards from NACMA for the second consecutive year," said UMD Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Josh Berlo. "I'm again intensely proud of the fine work done by the Bulldog marketing staff, interns and students led by (Director of Marketing and Corporate Relations)
Brian Nystrom to win these prestigious and coveted NACMA "Best Of" marketing and fan experience awards. Our thanks and appreciation also goes out to BULLDOG COUNTRY for helping us achieve these distinctions and to Flint Group for our great marketing partnership."
The following is a listing of UMD's three awards: - Gold in Promotional T-Shirt Design. A t-shirt was created for the UMD Penalty Box Student Section as part of their season ticket package. The long-sleeve shirt contained a unique design which celebrated the storied history of Bulldog hockey.
- Gold in Sponsorship Activation. UMD Athletics won this award for their work with Green Mill on the Green Mill Bulldog Hockey Family Pack. Fans had an opportunity to purchase tickets to a Bulldog hockey game and receive a Green Mill gift card with their tickets.
- Bronze in Single-Day Attendance Promotion. The Bulldogs were cited for setting their single-game attendance record (7,424) against the University of Minnesota at AMSOIL Arena on Nov. 15, 2014.
