College hockey's signature opening weekend event -- the Ice Breaker Tournament -- which was scheduled to be hosted by the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2020 will be moved to 2021.

The dates are October 15th and 16th, 2021 at AMSOIL Arena.  Participants will be Minnesota Duluth, Providence College, Minnesota State University, Mankato and Michigan.

All UMD Bulldog season ticket holders who have purchased tickets directly through the UMD Ticket Office will have the postponement credit automatically applied to the 2021 Icebreaker Tournament as part of the 2021-22 season ticket package or may request a refund.  Details will be communicated directly to season ticket holders from the UMD Ticket Office.

Tickets to the 2021 Ice Breaker Tournament will be included in UMD Men's Hockey full season ticket packages giving the Bulldogs an additional 2 home UMD games (tickets will also include the 2 games UMD is not involved in). Season ticket prices for that one year will increase to accommodate the additional games and will return to pricing similar to previous seasons the following year. Season ticket holders will also have an exclusive opportunity to purchase additional tickets to the tournament. Half-season ticket holders (Friday & Saturday Night) will have the corresponding games included in their season ticket package.

Q. When will tickets go on sale?
A. Pre-sale tickets will go on sale to season ticket holders the in summer of 2021 and online in the fall.  All-session tickets will go on sale at TBD date.  Single game tickets will go on sale on TBD date.

Q. How much will tickets cost?
A. All-Session tickets will cost $70 and include all 4 games.  Single game tickets will be $40 and include both games that day.

Q. Will the 2021 Ice Breaker Ticket be included in my season ticket package at a discount?
A. Yes, the 2021 Ice Breaker Ticket will be included in your season ticket package for both full season ticket holders, Friday night season ticket holders, and Saturday night season ticket holders at a discount. There will be 1 ticket each day that includes both games.

Q. Will my season tickets go up in price during the 2021-22 UMD Men's Hockey Season?
A. All UMD Men's Hockey season tickets will go up slightly in pricing for the 2021-22 season due to 4 additional games (2 UMD Home games). Ticket prices will return to similar pricing from previous seasons the following year.

Q. What is the schedule of games?
A. The schedule of games is 4:07 pm and 7:37 pm both days.

Q. How do I purchase individual game tickets?
A. Fans looking to purchase tickets will be able to buy single day passes as well as all-session passes on umdbulldogs.com/tickets. There will be 1 ticket per day which includes both games.

Q. Will the games be on TV or radio?
A. Radio, TV and Online.

Q. What is the Ice Breaker Tournament?
A. The Ice Breaker Tournament is the premier college hockey tournament in the country. Games are exempt which allows for additional games to the schedule that year. The Ice Breaker Tournament is run by College Hockey Inc., and is rotated annually to different host schools and sites.  In 2021 the Ice Breaker Tournament will be hosted at UMD and at Holy Cross (due the postponement of the 2020 Ice Breaker).
