THE BULLDOG OPEN

Reminder that Bulldog Open XXIX will be 8/21/26 at The Jewel.

Started in 1998 by Bulldog Baseball alum Mike Lenarz, the "Bulldog Open" was developed as a social function for a group of players and friends from the late 1980's at the Red Wing Country Club. The event grew and moved to Rochester, Cannon Falls, Cottage Grove, Hudson and now Lake City becoming both a social function and informal fundraiser for Bulldog baseball. Alumni and friends from the Twin Cities and Southern Minnesota participate in the Bulldog Open as a means of supporting and staying connected to Bulldog Baseball. Golfmeister and former Bulldog Captain, Pete Luhman, commissioned the annual trophy in the Open's 2nd decade immortalizing Champions by adding their names to the trophy. In recent years, the UMD Athletic Department has enhanced their direct support of the event by coordinating the administration to continue the tradition of welcoming alumni, former players and friends in an annual opportunity to support UMD Baseball.

The prizes and silent auction items have been primarily provided by participants & friends of the event. Please contact us if you have items to donate to help the event continue to grow and improve. UMD Bulldog Baseball supporters are encouraged to support the 'Dogs in any way possible to continue the growth of the Open as it celebrates 29 years.
