University of Minnesota Duluth senior Chris Parno placed third in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference men's pentathlon competition which wrapped up today (Feb. 16) at Northern State University's Barnett Center in Aberdeen, S.D. Parno, a native of River Falls, Wis., racked up a point total of 4,539 to trail only champion Zac Prebel of Bemidji State University (5,012 points) and runnerup Bryan Schiller of the University of Mary (4,552 points) among a field of 14 competitors. Bulldog junior Jimmy Warmuth of Nashwauk, Minn., finished fourth with 4,513 points, posting the meet's best 55-meter high hurdle time (7.99) in the process.
