BULLDOGS BACK ON THE ROAD AGAINST NON-CONFERENCE MICHIGAN TECH SATURDAY

Megan Lueck (13) is one of six Bulldogs averaging at least nine points per game.
The University of Minnesota Duluth will look to build momentum off last Tuesday night's victory as they travel to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to take on Michigan Tech University on Saturday afternoon.

UMD (2-1) doubled up NCAA III University of Wisconsin-Superior in the bridge battle last time out. Senior center Hannah Rutten leads the way for UMD with 15.7 points per game as well as 8.7 rebounds. NSIC North Preseason Player of the Year Katrina Newman is just behind her with 11.7 points and 6.3 boards per game in UMD's first three contests. UMD has spread the ball around with four other players averaging between nine and ten points per game. The Bulldogs have averaged 82.3 points per game this season.

About the Huskies
Michigan Tech (1-1) faced off with a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams last weekend at the Radisson Hotel Roseville Classic, defeating Concordia-St. Paul before falling to Minnesota State-Moorhead. A pair of sophomores lead the way for the Huskies as forward Kylie Moxley and guard Danielle Blake average 17.5 and 16.5 points per game, respectively. Senior guard Paige Albi averages a team-high 7.5 boards per game. Sophomore Kerry Gardner has led the team in assists with 3.5 dimes per MTU's first two contests. Head coach Kim Cameron and the Huskies went 21-9 in 2012-13 before seeing their season end in the NCAA II Midwest Region semifinal.

UMD is 28-18 all-time against the Huskies including a 83-82 victory on Nov. 17 last season.

The action is set to tip-off at 2:00 p.m. CT as the Bulldogs close out their non-conference schedule.
