All the University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey team needed coming into its series with St. Cloud State University was wins and the Bulldogs made it two triumphs in a row with a 2-1 victory Saturday afternoon at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn. Â

Jamie Kenyon who buried it from the slot for the 1-0 lead. Â The goal was Kenyon's third on the weekend and overall netted three of UMD's four tallies in the series.
After a goal by the Huskies 13:21 into the second period, the Bulldogs brushed off 12-5 shooting effort by the home team in the second stanza to outshoot SCSU 16-8 in the third period. Â The game looked destined for extra time, however, Â until McParland finally rewarded a first line that had been peppering the SCSU goal the entire period. Â With just 14 seconds remaining in the skate, McParland used the crossbar to beat Huskey goaltender Kate Fitzgerald and seal the series sweep for the Bulldogs. Â Sophomore forward
Hannah Bramm had the second assist on McParland's game-winner, Bramm's fourth assist on the weekend.
Kayla Black had 25 saves for the Bulldogs, who outshot St. Cloud 32-26. Â UMD was perfect on the penalty-kill on Saturday, killing off both infractions.
UMD, now 9-8-3 overall and 7-6-3 in Western Collegiate Hockey Association play, will be off from competition until Jan. 10, when the Bulldogs will host Minnesota State University at AMSOIL Arena in a two-game WCHA series. Â
