BULLDOGS EARN FIRST NSIC WIN IN DOMINANT FASHION

Box Score The University of Minnesota Duluth saw big nights from a pair of seniors in defeating the University of Minnesota Crookston 88-69 on the road and earning the Bulldogs' first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference win of the season.

Senior forward Katrina Newman UMD (4-2, 1-1 NSIC) was 11-20 from the floor for 25 points on the night, adding eight rebounds. Senior center Hannah Rutten added her third double-double of the year with 18 points and 12 boards. The bulldogs shot 44.3 percent from the field while holding UMC (4-2, 1-1 NSIC) to 39.7 percent.

The Bulldogs also received a ten-point effort from junior guard Danielle Flood as one of ten Bulldogs to net at least a basket on the night. Junior guard Alyssa Kerkhoff was held off the board but hauled in seven rebounds along with four assists and a pair of steals.

UMD is back at it tomorrow afternoon for another in-state NSIC match-up against Bemidji State University. The game is set to tip off at 4:00 p.m.
