UMD LOOKS TO BOUNCE BACK WITH THREE GAMES IN NEXT FIVE DAYS

The University of Minnesota Duluth will look to bounce back from a season-opening defeat when the Bulldogs play host to the annual border battle against the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Tuesday afternoon before traveling to the Winstead-Reeves Classic, hosted by Northwest Missouri State University this weekend.
 
UMD (0-1) made an 11-point comeback but couldn't steal a victory as Michigan Tech edged the Bulldogs 59-58 at Romano Gymnasium last Saturday afternoon. Coincidentally, UMD will also take on Northwest Missouri in the first round of the NCAA II Football Regional tournament on Saturday.

• Junior forward Taylor Meyer posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in UMD's season opener against Michigan Tech.
• Sophomore center Allyson Harris netted ten points on 4-of-8 shooting while hauling in eight rebounds, all on the defensive end against the Huskies.

15113• Wisconsin-Superior (0-2) suffered a pair of setbacks at the St. Nobert College Classic last weekend, falling 76-46 to the host Green Knights on Sunday afternoon. The 'Jackets fell 67-51 to UMD's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rival Winona State University in a preseason exhibition.
• Senior guard Sally Linzmeier leads the Yellowjacket attack offense, netting 13 points in an overtime defeat to Carroll University on on Saturday night, and 12 against St. Nobert on Sunday. She also had a team-high rebounds each night.
• The Bulldogs are 22-4 all-time against UWS including an 89-43 victory at Romano Gym on Nov. 19, 2013 last season.

15696• Pittsburg State (3-0) has defeated three NSIC teams already this season, knocking off Southwest Minnesota State University 92-73 on the road on Sunday night.
• Senior forward Lizzy Jeronimus has led the way, shooting 47.4 percent while averaging 17 points per game. Junior forward Kyle Gafford has averaged 7.7 rebounds per game, including 6.0 on the defensive end of the court. Gafford has also averaged double digits, scoring 13 points per game for PSU.
• Pittsburg picked up an 82-75 victory over UMD last season, the first meeting between the two schools in program history on Nov. 16, 2013.

16626• Northwest Missouri State (0-2) suffered a pair of defeats at the NSIC/MIAA Challenge to open the season and will take on the College of Saint Mary (Neb.) tonight before hosting the Classic this weekend.
• Senior guard Ariel Easton leads the Bearcats with a 16.5 point and 8.0 rebound per-game average. Freshman forward Tanya Meyer has averaged 5.5 points and
• Northwest owns a 1-0 record of UMD with the only meeting between the two teams coming in the 1995-96 season.

The Bulldogs and Badgers will close out the exhibition season Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. before UMD returns home to host Michigan Tech at Noon on Saturday.
