Minnesota Crookston (10-14, 7-13 NSIC) lost 88-69 when they hosted the Bulldogs this season on Dec. 8, 2013.
Katrina Newman and Rutten led the way for UMD with 25 and 18 points, respectively, as Rutten collected a double-double with 12 rebounds. UMC's leading scorer, sophomore guard Katrina Moenkedick had 15 points for the Golden Eagles while the bench contributed nearly half (30) of Crookston's points. The Bulldogs dominated inside with 42 points in the paint while also collecting 23 offensive rebounds for 21 second-chance points. UMD has lost just once in 27 games all-time against UMC.
The Bulldogs will look for two wins and the chance to finish the season above .500. Opening tip this weekend is set for 6:00 p.m. as the Bulldogs and Beavers face off on Friday night. UMD turns around to face Crookston at 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
