The University of Minnesota Duluth edged out Northern State University in three quarters of their Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match-up on Friday night, but the Wolves shot 60.0 percent and scored 26 points in the third quarter alone to knock off the Bulldogs 71-62 in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
UMD (2-5, 2-2 NSIC) sees its two-game winning streak ended despite a valiant comeback effort in the fourth quarter to pull within nine after Northern State (6-3, 2-2 NSIC) hit 12-of-20 shots coming out of the locker room. The Wolves got 20 points of senior guard Devon Brecke, who finished 6-of-8 from the floor and 8-of-8 from the free throw line. Senior center Lauren Deadrick finished with 13 points and 11 boards for NSU.
The Bulldogs finished 13-of-31 in the second half, hitting four three-pointers after the break during a comeback effort. Freshman guard

UMD will get back at it tomorrow afternoon as the team travels to take on Minnesota State University Moorhead in Moorhead. Opening tip is set for 4:00 p.m., preceding the men's contest.
