Northern State University used a 10-0 run to start the game and went on to down the University of Minnesota Duluth, 73-48, on Saturday afternoon in Aberdeen, S.D. After making a free-throw at 2:30 of the second quarter, senior forward

Just one day after topping No. 15Â Minnesota State University, Moorhead, 71-59, the Bulldogs (11-7; 9-5 NSIC) were unable to hang with the Wolves (13-5; 9-5 NSIC) in what would turn out to be their most lopsided loss of the season. After scoring the first points of the game, Northern State never relinquished the lead. The Wolves were up by as much as 29 points before finishing off the Bulldogs.
Junior center Miranda Ristau led the way for Northern State with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting while capturing a double-double with 11 rebounds. The starting five for UMD struggled, shooting just 11-of-32 for a combined 28 points. Sophomore guard
Sammy Kozlowski finished with 18 of those 28 points on 7-of-18 shooting while accounting for four of the seven made three-pointers. Junior forward
Amanda Hunt captured her first points of the season, finishing with two points and a pair of rebounds.Â
The Bulldogs were out-rebounded 43-to-21 and were only able to capitalize on three second-chance points. Despite winning the turnover margin 20-14, UMD was outscored 21-17 by points off turnovers.
The Bulldogs will try to bounce back at home this Friday (Jan. 27) against Augustana (S.D.) University. The Vikings are currently riding a three-game win streak and are coming off a commanding 80-63 victory over No. 17 Winona State University.
