MONSON IS UMD FOOTBALL'S LATEST COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN

University of Minnesota Duluth junior defensive end Dan Monson became the ninth Bulldog to ever attain CoSIDA All-American football honors today when he landed a spot on the 25-member second team.

Monson, a native of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., was chosen to the 2018 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference first team this past season after being credited with a career-high 26 total tackles in his first full year of starting duty. He ranked fourth among 2018 Bulldogs in sacks with 4.0 (another personal best) while also blocking one kick and having a hand in 8.0 tackles for a loss. A two-time All-NSIC Academic Team honoree, Monson maintains a 3.75 cumulative grade point average as a civil engineering major.
