University of Minnesota Duluth junior defensive end
Dan Monson became the ninth Bulldog to ever attain CoSIDAÂ All-American football honors today when he landed a spot on the 25-member second team.
Monson, a native of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., was chosen to the 2018 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference first team this past season after being credited with a career-high 26 total tackles in his first full year of starting duty. He ranked fourth among 2018 Bulldogs in sacks with 4.0 (another personal best) while also blocking one kick and having a hand in 8.0 tackles for a loss. A two-time All-NSIC Academic Team honoree, Monson maintains a 3.75 cumulative grade point average as a civil engineering major.

Jason Balts (first team in 2017), defensive end Nick Thorpe (first team in 2017), offensive guard/center Andrew Pattock (first team in 2013), free safety Cameron Harper (second team in 2012), placekicker David Nadeau (second team in 2011), running back Issac Odim (first team in 2010 and 2009), center Tobias Lemke (first team in 2009) and cornerback Brandon Wood (second team in 2009) in the circle of Bulldog football CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.
