Today the 2021 Northern Sun Outdoor Track and Field Championships carried on from the campus of the University of Minnesota Duluth. All of the qualifying members of the University of Minnesota Duluth Women's Track and Field Team were in action with the last four Decathlon Events and the start of the open events.

Megan Gilles and Bryn London finished the second day of the Women's Heptathlon as they completed the Long Jump, Javelin Throw and 800-meter run. London jumped a distance of 4.48 meters in the long jump followed by Gilles who jumped 3.34 meters. In the Javelin Throw London recorded a throw of 25.83 meters while Gilles recorded a throw of 24.98 meters. The last Heptathlon event was the 800-meter run. Gilles posted a time of 2:37.97 in the event and London posted a time of 2:56.60Â

Gilles finished the Decathlon with a total of 3,684 points and Bryn London finished the Multi Events with a total of 3,658 points.Â

Notable performances in the preliminary heats include the following. The Bulldogs Anna Muellner ran the fourth fastest time in the 400-meter dash posting 56.06 seconds. She finished second in her respective heat and will advance to tomorrow's championship race. UMD will send three athletes to the championship race in the 800-meter run. Isabelle Brezinka won the first preliminary heat and finished second overall in day one of the event with a time of 2:12.19. Haleigh Reindl won her heat and finished third overall in the 800-meter run posting a time of 2:12.23. Elizabeth Kyes also advanced to the championship race with a time of 2:13.14 and took sixth place overall, second in heat one. Madison Biebel and Nicole Schneider will advance to the championship races in the 400-meter hurdles. Biebel ran a time of 1:01.62 setting a season PR and good enough to win the second heat. Biebel's time is also an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and currently sits 17th in NCAA DII. Schneider won the third heat of the preliminaries running a time of 1:04.01 also setting a 2021 outdoor season PR.Â

The third and final day of the 2021 NSIC Outdoor Track and Field championships for the Women's Track and Field team will start at 11:30am with Women's Discus, the first running event will commence at 1:05pm with the 4X100 meter relay.Â
