A two-mile stretch of right-of-way along U.S. Highway 53 near Canyon, Minn., now looks a whole lot tidier thanks to the cleanup efforts of volunteers from the University of Minnesota Duluth Athletic Department on May 19th.
That group, which included Bulldog coaches and administrative staff, spent the late morning and early afternoon collecting trash as part of the Minnesota Department of Transportation's Adopt-A-Highway program. UMD Athletics has been an Adopt-A-Highway participant since 1999.
The Bulldogs annually are involved in over 3,500+ hours of community service projects as part of the department's mission and core values. Â
