BULLDOGS OWN PERFECT FOUR-YEAR ACADEMIC PROGRESS RATE

The University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey team success hasn't been limited to the ice, and the NCAA recently released the date to prove it.

The Bulldogs were one of nine teams in the nation to log a perfect multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) of 1,000, averaged over the past four years (2018-22).

The APR, created in 2003 to measure Division I schools and teams on their student-athletes' success in the classroom, awards points to teams based on students' grades, their progress toward their degree and for staying in school. Teams are also rewarded in the APR for students who return to school to complete their degree.  The APR is related – but not identical – to the NCAA's Graduation Success Rate (GSR), serving in a way as a predictor of GSR success.

UMD had 14 Western Collegiate Scholar Athletes this past spring, requiring a GPA of 3.5 or higher for two or more semesters, and in August had eight players named named 2021-22 Krampade Division I All-American Scholars for maintaining at least 3.75 GPA in each semester of the season.
