The University of Minnesota Duluth women's basketball team held The College of St. Scholastica to just 15% from beyond the arc and a 3-for-20 three point shooting performance on the way to a 65-44 win over the Saints in Romano Gymnasium tonight.
The Bulldogs had four players score in double figures, led by Myra Moorjani, who had 14 points and six rebounds. Claire Bjorge added 13 points and two steals and Lexi Karge chipped in as well with a double-double, collecting 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The UMD offense was very productive from beyond the arc, knocking down eight threes on 19 attempts. Bjorge was the most prolific shooter for the Bulldogs, draining three shots from three point range throughout the contest.
A strong defensive effort from the Bulldogs held St. Scholastica to only 38.3 percent shooting from the field, including 15% from beyond the arc. The Saints did not have much luck cleaning up their misses on the offensive glass either, as they finished with two offensive rebounds and managed zero second chance points while UMD cleared 25 defensive rebounds.
Bulldog women's basketball kicks off their 2024-25 regular season next weekend in the GAC-NSIC Crossover tournament in Alva, OK. Tip off versus Southeastern Oklahoma State University is currently set for Friday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 PM.
