THE SEASON SO FAR
The Bulldogs return to action this weekend after their road trip sweep of the Augustana Vikings and the Wayne State Wildcats last weekend. The Bulldogs now sit at an overall record of 14-7 and a conference record of 11-6 with just five games left in their regular season schedule. They hold on to sixth place in the conference for the moment, not quite giving them a bye but granting them a home court advantage for the opening round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) tournament.
RANKINGS, RANKINGS, RANKINGS
Last appearing in the national rankings on Dec. 12, the Bulldogs still remain outside of the WBCA top 25 while MSU Mankato continues to find themselves as the only nationally ranked NSIC team at No.17.
BULLDOG STARTING FIVE
The veteran presence of the Bulldog starting five (consisting of Ella Gilbertson, Madelyn Granica, Taya Hakamaki, Lexi Karge, and Taytum Rhoades) continues to dominate on the offensive side of the ball. The core group has tallied 1,075 points, 473 rebounds, and 214 assists just this season so far.
SCOUTING REPORT - SOUTHWEST MINN.
Southwest Minn. State sits at 14-8 overall and 12-4 in the conference, putting them tied for second with UMary in the standings. The Bulldogs are 8-3 against the Mustangs since 2014, most recently falling to them 80-86 on the road earlier this season.
SCOUTING REPORT - SIOUX FALLS
Sioux Falls sits at 7-13 overall and 5-11 in the conference, putting them at tenth place in the conference standings. The Bulldogs are 9-3 against the Cougars since 2014, most recently defeating them 77-50 on the road at the beginning of the season.
LOOKING AHEAD
Women's basketball will take on Minot State and UMary next weekend for their final road trip of the regular season. The action for the Bulldogs will tip off on Friday, Feb. 16, at 5:30 PM.
