The University of Minnesota Duluth women's basketball team played their final home game of the 2024-25 season at Romano Gymnasium tonight, falling short 77-59 to the Northern State University Wolves on Senior Day.

UMD struggled out of the gate, falling behind 22-6 by the end of the first quarter.
The Bulldogs then cut the Wolves lead to 31-16 before going on a 7-0 run, highlighted by a bucket from Karge, to narrow its deficit to 31-23. NSU responded and expanded its lead before the break, leaving the Bulldogs trailing 38-27 heading into halftime.
NSU continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 53-33 advantage before UMD collected 10 unanswered points to trim its deficit to 53-43 with 3:22 to go in the third. The Wolves countered and stretched its lead to 60-49 heading into the fourth. UMD played well near the basket, scoring 18 of its 22 points in the paint.
The Bulldogs could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 77-59. UMD took advantage of its opportunities in the post, scoring 10 of its 10 points throughout the quarter in the paint.
Bulldog Notes vs. NSU
The Bulldogs had two players score in double figures, led by Lexi Karge, who had 19 points and seven rebounds. Claire Bjorge tacked on 11 points off of the bench and Myra Moorjani added six points and seven rebounds.
Led by Karge's five offensive rebounds, the Bulldogs did a great job crashing the offensive glass by pulling down 10 boards that resulted in 12 second chance points.
Looking Ahead
Bulldog women's basketball (8-17, 6-14 NSIC) return to action next weekend against the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles and the Bemidji State University Beavers to close out their 2024-25 regular season. Tip-off against the Golden Eagles is currently set for Friday, Feb. 21, 7:30 PM.
