South Suburban Conference rushing leader (2012 and 2013) ... Panther team captain (2013) ... Minnesota State AAAAAA quarterfinalist (2013) and runner up (2012) ... also lettered in track (sprints) at Lakeville North High School. 
PERSONAL: Is the son of Fred and Linda Newell ... has three older brothers who play collegiate varsity sports --  Frederick (basketball at North Dakota State University), Dajon (football at Augustana College) and Kyrell (football at Drake University).
