AS A BULLDOG:
2017: Was called into action in eight games -- a 400 percent workload increase from the previous year ... placed sixth on the UMD rushing charts with 118 yards on 29 carries ... did most most of his ground gaining in the later stages of the season, picking up 111 yards from Oct. 21 on ... that included a 43-yard afternoon at the expense of Mary on Nov. 11.
2016: Counted himself as one of 15 Bulldogs who ran the football during the course of the season ... was restricted to just two appearances, but received an ample amount of ball-carrying activity in one of them  -- the home finale versus Mary ... rushed 11 times for 53 yards and a pair of touchdowns that afternoon ... had one carry for six yards seven days earlier in Crookston, Minn.
2015: Was red-shirted as a first-year freshman.
BEFORE UMD: Three-year starter (running back and defensive end) at Plainview-Elgin-Millville High School ... was cited as an All-Southern Football Alliance Red Division honoree in 2014 (first team), 2013 (first team) and 2012 (honorable mention) ... served as a team captain during his senior season and ran for a SFA Red Division-best 1,307 yards and 13 touchdowns on 204 carries ... received All-Section 1AAA first team recognition from the Minnesota Football Coaches Association as a junior and senior  and was a 2014 Academic All-State qualifier... earned a Class AAA Gold Academic Team Award all four of his prep years ... closed the books on his Bulldog career with 2,793 rushing yards and 31 touchdown ... played for head coach Kevin Lamb ... lettered four times in track and field `(sprinter) and ran a leg on the Bulldogs' 4 x 100 relay unit that placed third at the 2014 Minnesota State High School Class A Championships.
PERSONAL: Is the son of Patrick and Wendy Heim ... is majoring in criminology at UMD.
