AS A BULLDOG: Shifted his game into high gear last year and there is no reason not to expect more of the same in 2012 ... finished third on UMD’s 2011 pass catch charts with 34 and was first in touchdowns with four ... also posted the best yards per catch average (12.5) of any Bulldog regular last season and was on the receiving end of the longest pass play of 2011 (a 51-yard toss from Chase Vogler against Minnesota Crookston on Nov. 5) ...had managed at least one reception in 13 straight games before being blanked in the 2011 finale against Wayne State ... rushed for another 37 yards on just four carries last season ... qualified for the 2011 NSIC All-Academic Team ... was assigned mainly to special teams detail two years ago ... caught three passes that season, with two of those catches coming at the expense of Bemidji State in late September ... also had a hand in five tackles in 2010 ... suffered a concussion in the Oct. 30 , 2010 home clash with St. Cloud State and did not accompany the team to Minnesota Crookston the next weekend ... was redshirted as a first-year freshman in 2009.

COLLEGIATE HIGHS: Pass Receptions - 5 vs. Minnesota State-Mankato (11/12/11) and at Wayne State College (9/17/11). Pass Reception Yards - 82 at. Bemidji State (9/24/11). Pass Reception Touchdowns - 2 vs. Minnesota State-Moorhead (10/11/11). Longest Pass Reception - 51 yds. vs. Minnesota Crookston (11/5/11).

BEFORE UMD: Served as the triggerman for Superior High School’s offense since taking over the starting quarterback duties as a sophomore … landed Superior Daily Telegram All-Area Team honors three straight seasons and was selected that newspaper’s Co-Player of the Year in 2008 … also was a two-time All-Big Rivers Conference choice (honorable mention quarterback in 2007 and 2008 and punter in 2007 … captained the Spartans in 2009 and was a teammate of fellow second-year UMD freshman Chris Blake … was coached on the gridiron by Bob DeMeyer … additionally utilized his athletic abilities as a member of the basketball (guard forward) and track and field (high jump, sprints) teams at Superior High School.
