BEFORE UMD: A 2017 graduate of Mountain Iron-Buhl High School • spent six years as the team's shooting guard, starting five of those seasons for the Rangers • collected the Arrowhead Conference Championship every year since a freshman and was an All-Arrowhead Conference selection six times • was named an all-state first team player five times as well • was a member of the Duluth News Tribune All-Area First team since 2014 and was named the area's Player of the Year in three consecutive years starting her sophomore season • was selected to the Class A All-Tournament team four of her six tries at the tournament, twice with the first team • Rangers finished Class A runner-ups in 2012 and 2017, also placed third in 2016 • was bestowed as one of the five finalist for the 2017 Miss Minnesota award • ended her prep career with over 3,000 points and a MSHSL state record 921 steals.

PERSONAL: Born Chelsea Doris Mason on May 6, 1998 in Mountain Iron, Minn. • daughter of Anthony and Billie Mason• has two older sisters (Marissa and Felicia) • is planning to major in biochemistry at UMD.
