Biography

2019-2020:  One of only two Bulldogs ever to wear the “C” for three seasons...finished second in team scoring, putting up 41 points on 19 goals and 22 assists in just 36 games, and in the process, shattered previously season-high offensive numbers...  logged 20 points -- nine goals and 11 assists in 15 games against teams ranked nationally...finished her career with the 21st most points by a Bulldog in program history -- 98 -- on 40 goals and 58 assists over 141 games...named to the 2019-20 All-WCHA Third Team, and was also a three-time WCHA Scholar Athlete, as well as three-time WCHA All-Academic Team honoree after picking up both accoldas her senior season...earned World Championship gold with the U.S. National Team in April of 2019, contributing two assists.

2018-2019:  The second-year captain skated in all 35 games as a junior, posting eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points and was given the Maroon and Gold Award by her teammates for her overall efforts ... put the second most shots on goal with 117 ... had a career-best four points (two goals, two assists) against Ohio State on Jan. 19 ... named a 2018-19 WCHA Scholar Athlete, as well as a 2018-19 WCHA All-Academic Team honoree ... made her U-22 U.S. squad debut in August 2018 in the Under-22 Series in Calgary and then won the Four Nations Cup in her first senior U.S. National Team action in November.

2017-2018: Team captain and one of two youngest Bulldog players ever to wear the "C" in program history ... skated in all 35 games, posting five goals and 11 assists for 16 points in those outings ... had a game-winning goal in addition to two game-winning assists, and twice turned in multiple point games  ... named a 2017-18 WCHA Scholar-Athletes named a 2017-18, as well as a WCHA All-Academic Team honoree.

2016-2017:  Started her Bulldog career off as one of the nation's most formidable rookies after finishing 20th in the NCAA among all freshmen in scoring and third in the WCHA with 21 points on eight goals and 13 assists in 35 games ... for her effort, she was named to the 2016-17 WCHA All-Rookie Team, and picked up WCHA Rookie of the Month honors for February after posting a league rookie-high five goals in addition to five assists for 10 points in eight games that month ... had four multiple-point skates, including a season-high three points on two goals and one assists at Ohio State on Oct. 10, 2016 ... contributed one power play goal and one game-winning tally, as well as a game-winning assist ... named a 2016-17 All-American Scholar by the American Hockey Coaches Association.

BEFORE UMD:  A three-year captain at Moundsview High School where she helped guide the Mustangs to two state tournament berths in 2012 and 2014 … the two-time team MVP and three-time Offensive Player of the Year was a Miss Hockey Minnesota finalist in 2016 … named an Suburban East All-Conference performer four consecutive years (2016, 2015, 2014, 2013), and was an All-State honorable mention in 2015 … was a member of the Under-18 U.S. women’s national team that won gold at the 2016 IIHF World Championships … was also a member of the 2015 USA's U-18 three-game series against Canada and a 2015 USA select 66 camp participant and has twice been a USA player development camp selection (2013, 2014) ... took part in the 2016 USA Hockey Women's National Festival that took place Aug. 8-14 in Lake Placid, N.Y. ... four-year Athletic Academic Award winner, as well as Athena receipient in 2016.

PERSONAL:  Born Sydney Jane Brodt on May 3, 1998 in Maplewood, Minn. … daughter of Bart and Darcy Brodt … has one younger sister (Annika) and one younger brother (Carson) … was 2016 graduate of Moundsview High School … is a finance major at UMD.
