Biography
BULLDOG CAREER:
2019-20: Schmidt saw time in seven games in her sophomore season, seeing 2.6 minutes a game. She providerd .6 points per game along with one rebound on the year. She hit 50.0% from the field as well.
2018-19: Saw playing time in 15 games during her first year • made her collegiate debut against Minot State on Dec. 7 • recorded her first collegiate points against Southwest Minnesota State on Dec. 15 • ended the season with eight points, two steals, and one assist.Â
BEFORE UMD: A 2018 graduate of Wheaton High School • played varsity for five seasons and was in the starting lineup the last four seasons for the Warriors • played under coaches Tim Gail and Darin Rinke • a two-time MSHSL Class A All-State player her junior and senior seasons • guided the Warriors to a fourth place finish in the 2016 MSHSL Class A tournament • bestowed to the all-tournament team in Class A for that state tournament run • named the All-Pheasant Conference Most Valuable Player the last three seasons and all-conference from 2014-15 to 2017-18 • ran cross country and competed in track and field for Wheaton.Â
PERSONAL: Born Emma Katherine Schmidt in Dumont, Minn. • daughter of Steven and Rebekah Schmidt • has two younger sisters, Isabele and Julia • her mother, Rebekah was a basketball player at Concordia-Moorhead • currently has four cousins attending UMD • participated in National Honor Society, student council, the Knowledge Bowl, jazz band, school musicals and was a Triple A Award winner at Wheaton • will major in psychology at UMD.
