Biography
BULLDOG CAREER:
2020-21 (Senior): Started in all sixteen games for the Bulldogs during her senior season. Played the second most minutes on the team averaging 31.2 a game. Finished second on the roster in points per game tallying 9.4 per game. Grabbed 3.4 rebounds per game. Finished second by dishing out 48 assists over the course of the season. Shot 44.4 % from the field and an exceptional 45.1% from beyond the arc. Led the Bulldogs with 22 swipes on the season. Went 23-26 from the free throw line recording a 88.5% free throw percentage. Was named to the NSIC North All-Second Team for the 2020-21 season. Will use the NCAA Eligibility Waiver to return for a fifth season.Â
2019-20 (Junior):Had another very productive year for UMD, with her biggest game ever as a Bulldog coming against Northern State in the NSIC Tournament, where she dropped a career best 28 points. Simonet saw action in every game, starting in 28 of them and averaging 31.6 minutes per night. She would finish the year with an 8.7 ppg, 4.4 rebounds per game, 3.4 assists (99 total) per game and a .424 shooting percentage. She hammered 33 shots from beyond the arc with a .418 3-point percentage. She also had one block and 42 steals.
2018-19 (Sophomore): Took on a full-time starting role, starting and playing in all 29 games • recorded 763 minutes, averaging 26.3 minutes per game • was fifth on the team with 209 points, recorded 85 assists and 37 steals • averaged 7.2 points per game, 2.9 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.3 steals • was 77-for-199 from the field and made 37 of 44 attempted free-throws • was named to the NSIC All-Academic Team and obtained the NSIC Academic Team of Excellence Award.
2017-18 (Freshman): Provided the Bulldogs a spark in her first full season as an off guard • was the only freshman to start and play in all 27 games • tallied 772 minutes, good for 28.6 minutes per game, the second most behind Sammy Kozlowski • was fourth on the team with 222 points and averaged 8.2 points a game • a sharpshooter that drained a team-leading 44 three-pointers and led the club at 37.6 percent from downtown • had one three-point make in 22 games • was second among NSIC freshman with 1.6 three-point makes a game • compiled a season high 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting against Northern State • also dished out a season high six assists against the Wolves as well • grabbed a season high seven boards in her second collegiate contest • was the top freshman in the NSIC with 1.5 steals per game • posted double figures in 10 outings • sported the Bulldogs' best assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.3.
BEFORE UMD: A 2017 graduate of Park Center Senior High School • notched 1,000 career points by her junior season for the Pirates • her team won back-to-back Class AAA State titles her freshman and sophomore seasons • also went back to state when the Pirates moved up to Class AAAA • earned a spot on the All-Northwest Suburban Conference team for the third consecutive year her senior season • four-year starter was named to the Class AAA All-Tournament team in 2014 and 2015 • competed on the Park Center soccer team and ran cross country.
PERSONAL: Born Ann Marie Simonet in Brooklyn Park, Minn. • is the daughter of Mike and Pat Simonet • has one older sister named Kate, who ran distance for Winona State's track and field team • majoring in accounting at UMD.
