GETTING TO KNOW MARIA:
Why I Chose UMD: I chose UMD for the city, academic components, and acceptance of walk on athletes.
Influences On My Athletic Career: My family has had a big impact on my athletic career. My father grew up running track and eventually became a track coach, and my sister and I have ran since Kindergarten!
What Most People Don't Know About Me: Most people don't know that I am Cuban and Lebanese.
Pre-Meet Ritual or Superstition: My pre-meet ritual contains lots of pump up music, visualization of my race, warming up with my teammates, and a pre-race prayer.
Favorite Professional Athlete: Allyson Felix

Years Lettered/Competed with Varsity: Competed on Varsity Track and Field for 6 years, and on Varsity Gymnastics for 4 years
High School Highlights: Section Champion in 100m hurdles Freshman Year, MNSHL Track and Field State Meet Participant, Being a captain for 3 years
