2020: Season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
BEFORE UMD: Three-year starter (cornerback, running back, outside linebacker, placekicker and punt returner) at Orono High School ... played under head coach Joe McPherson ... collared All-Suburban District honors in 2018 and 2019 ... was voted the Spartans' Most Valuable Offensive Player as a senior -- one year after receiving the Special Teams Player award ... Made the Minneapolis Star-Tribune's 2019 Metro Preseason Dream Team ... went on to rank first among Spartans that year in rushing and scoring ... is also  four-year track and field lettermen (sprints and jumps) at Orono High School ... was a State DECA qualifier in 2019.
PERSONAL: Is the son of Aaron and Maria Ruhland ... has one younger brother (Victor) ... plans on majoring in business at UMD.
