BEFORE UMD: Patrolled the defensive secondary for three years at Mt. Si High School, playing under head coach Charlie Kinnune … was bestowed with team Most Valuable Player honors as a junior after leading the King Conference with six interceptions and ranking second in the league with 84.5 tackles … attained All-King Conference acclaim in 2011 and 2012 … served as a team captain as a senior on his way to securing all-state honors … performed at an all-conference level for the Wildcat soccer team and earned one varsity basketball letter as well … is the son of Dave and Janine Malberg.
