Biography
2017-18: Named one of three assistant captains for the season.
2016-17: Matched the offensive output from her sophomore campaign by again registering 11 points … notched two goals (including a power play tally) and a career-high 11 assists in 36 games … claimed the WCHA Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 28, 2017 after she compiled a goal and three assists against St. Cloud State in the first round of the WCHA Playoffs … was named a 2016-17 WCHA Scholar Athlete, as well as a 2016-17 WCHA All-Academic Team member, earning both for a second-consecutive season.
2015-16: Found her offensive stride as a sophomore, netting four goals and seven assists en route to a 11 point season … one of 12 players that skated in all 37 games … had one power play goal … was named a 2015-16 WCHA Scholar Athlete, and was a 2015-16 WCHA All-Academic Team member.
2014-15: Hit the ice in 32 games for the Bulldogs as a freshman and recorded two assists ... established a plus/minus rating of +7 ... Put 10 shots on goal and never picked up a penalty minute.
BEFORE UMD: A member of the U-18 Canadian National Team ... skated in the IIHF U-18 World Championship in Heinola, Finland and played with former Bulldog
Ashleigh Brykaliuk, where together they won gold …. played for Team Quebec for three years including the 2011 Canadian U-18 Nationals in Saguenay, QC where her squad won silver, a bronze medal in the 2011 Canada Games and just one season removed from a spot on the 2012 Canadian U-18 team ... played for the Saint-Laurent Patriotes in the first division of RSEQ in Quebec ... named First Team All-Star in her first season with Saint Laurent in 2012-13 and was twice named to the All-Star game ... was named assistant captain.
PERSONAL: Born Catherine Daoust in Montreal, Quebec ... daughter of Raoul Daoust and Paule Dansereau ... has one older brother (Alexandre), one older sister (Isabelle) and one younger sister (Caroline) ... graduated from Cégep de Saint-Laurent in 2014 ... is majoring in mechanical engineering at UMD.
